Day 2 ~ After checking the crab pot, head for Tracy Arm to experience the magnificent twin Sawyer Glaciers. View the floating icebergs, waterfalls, the active tidewater glaciers, and keep watch for the abundance of marine and wildlife: seals, whales, birds and bears. An early arrival at Gambier Bay will allow for halibut fishing. If you bring SCUBA gear, there's a 100 year old wreck to explore. Day 3 ~ Drink in the scenery as we approach Pybus Bay on Admiralty Island, known as the "Fortress of the Bears," then on to Murder Cove, an old cannery site. Destination is Baranof Warm Springs on Baranof Island. For those inspired to renew their vows or who are planning a marriage, this is just the spot. Let the captain know ahead of time so he can be properly prepared to conduct the ceremony. There's a wonderful boardwalk that takes you through the flora and fauna to Baranof Lake for a memorable picnic and then a nice soak in the hot springs. Day 4 ~ Native Alaskans have a saying, "When the tide is out...the table is set." As we move into Hood Bay, on Admiralty Island, you might possibly have an opportunity to view the diner table and those partaking, Brown bears. Day 5~ Legends and stories will be the hallmark of the day as you are taken up the pristine waters and alongside the forest primeval into Mitchell Bay with a Tlingit elder. Day 6 ~ A day up Chatham Straight, one of the premier Humpback and Orca feeding areas, stopping at Funter Bay. View the old Aleut graveyard, catch a fish, do a little hiking. Day 7 ~Reluctantly return to Juneau with memories that will last a lifetime. |

Captain-Only Charters are designed to give the client full control in the galley. The charterer will provision the boat with foodstuffs and ice for passengers and crew. The vessel will return to the agreed upon port with all fluids topped off and the interior cleaned to the condition it was in at the time of boarding. We will clean the linens. The skipper’s sole responsibilities are the safety and operation of the vessel, to provide the benefit of his or her locale knowledge, and provide advice and input when and where needed. You do the choosing. Crewed Charters are encouraged for those wanting to experience the richness of the journey without the hassles of light housekeeping, meal planning, preparation or cleanup. We will consult with you, prior to your charter, on food preferences, menus, and dietary requirements and limitations. Sport Fishing Charters are customized for the avid fisherman. Our vessels are loaded with fishing gear, bait, ice and knowledgeable captains who know the waters and where the fish hang out. The Sport Fishing Charter is priced at a different rate than the recreational charters mentioned above due to the careful handling and preparations of the catch. DURATION OF CHARTERS Typical Charters are set up on a 6 day, 5 night schedule. The day commences early in the morning, and ends by 5:00 p.m. 6 days later. Customized charter times can be arranged. (i.e., depart Monday at 8:00 a.m. return Saturday 5:00 p.m.) VESSEL CHOICES Our fleet includes a variety of vessels carefully chosen for their purpose and inspected to insure their suitability. They are completely outfitted with everything needed for your charter ~ down to the matches for the barbecue. CAPTAINS OF THE FLEET Our captains are carefully chosen for their knowledge and skills, and vetted for qualifications and required licenses. Our experienced skippers know their craft and will make your charter experience special with their local knowledge, lore and stories. They know the waters, the locality, the safe and special places to anchor, where to sight whales, bears, and where to go to fish. RESERVATIONS Your reservation is held for 14 calendar days pending receipt of your 30% confirming deposit. The balance is due 45 days before the start date of the charter. Reservations made within 60 days of departure requires payment in full to confirm. Payment may be made by personal check. CANCELLATIONS Over 120 days before the charter, the booking deposit will be returned less $200. Less than 120 days, the booking deposit will be retained. All monies are retained in the event of cancellation less than 60 days before the charter. Exception: if CBA can rebook the charter at the same rate, or pro-rata, then the entire amount paid will be refunded, or pro-rata if less. In the unlikely event that Charter Brokers of Alaska, LLC cancels a charter due to a mechanical breakdown or due to weather, you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to us. VESSEL INSURANCE Each vessel in our fleet carries $1,000,000 in P&I coverage for the passengers. The vessel policy will cover the first $10,000 in medical expenses incurred while on board. RETURN OF DEPOSIT A cleaning/damage deposit is due at time of charter. Assuming no claims for damages or additional cleaning expenses, we will issue the return of deposit postmarked no later than 14 days following the conclusion of the charter. This time period is required to secure estimates and receive billing in the event of claims. CHANGES OF SCHEDULE & CREW If the charterer needs to change a scheduled trip, we will make every effort to accommodate that change, subject to the limitation of other scheduled trips. We reserve the right to make changes in our schedules for any reason before the charter; or at any time when necessary for the safety of the guests. In the event of mechanical breakdown, CBA reserves the right to make a timely substitute to another boat of comparable or superior size and quality. We also reserve the right to change or substitute crew members. MEALS Experience the rich abundance of our natural resources in seafood delicacies and other culinary specialties derived from native born plants and berries. You will be consulted prior to the charter regarding your food requirements or limitations and preferences. CLOTHING There’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. In Southeast it is best to dress in layers. It is also suggested that you have good rain gear, boots, hat, gloves. Information on recommended clothing will be given to you prior to the trip, to make your journey exceptionally sweet. |

| Trip Cancellation Insurance | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Traveling in Alaska’s vast areas and unpredictable weather are both good reasons to consider purchasing travel cancellation/interruption insurance. Because we cannot make exceptions to cancellation policies, even in cases of medical or family emergencies, we recommend Travelex Insurance. Travelex Trip Cancellation/Interruption insurance begins immediately and is active until you return home. It protects you from trip interruption or cancellation, illness or that of a family member as well as inclement weather. Children under 15 traveling with an adult are covered at no charge. It also covers loss of employment. If purchased within 14 days of booking the charter it also covers preexisting health conditions. Please go to our LINKS page and click onto Travelex for more information.

| Remedies for Sea Sickness | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Here's the list of remedies in order of effectiveness: SCOPOLAMINE: For the absolutely "I always get sea sick" folks. This remedy is also referred to as "the patch" and can be obtained by prescription from your doctor. It looks like a little round Band-Aid and is worn behind your ear. There are a certain percentage of people who have adverse side effects to this medication. We highly suggest that if you're using this remedy for the first time, try using one at home first. BONINE®: This is the best over-the-counter, pill remedy. Highly recommended! However, you need to get this medication working in your system well in advance. The biggest mistake people make with pill form remedies is that they take their first dose either right before or right after entering the "open ocean" portion of the excursion. Sea sick prone people usually spew these pills out before they can take effect. For maximum effectiveness, take one dose of Bonine® the night before we plan to enter "open ocean" and another dose in the morning when you wake up. For multiple days, don't forget to keep up with the recommended dosage. DRAMAMINE®: This is probably the most well-known of remedies. You should try this at home first since it does cause "sleepiness". SEA BAND®: These are pressure point therapy wrist bands. Most people discount this remedy because it "sounds" like a gimmick. People who have actually used the band will swear that it works. The nice thing about this remedy is that it can be added along with any of the other remedies without conflict. We hope this helps and have a great adventure!! |
